You want to have a conversation with your child, then all of a sudden everything explodes — and both of you then get mad, upset, start walking away, etc. and you wonder…what just happened?!

Or you ask your kid how their day has been, and you get the typical one-word answer: “good”…”fine”…”sure”.

You may feel like you’re not making any progress in building a relationship with your child, but the reality is teens from all over the country have told us over and over again that they want to talk to their parents — they just don’t know what to say sometimes.
